Homemade Granola
Dr James Caleb Jackson invented Granola in 1863. Typically Granola is eaten as a breakfast meal. This recipe is perfect for your body, giving you all the nutrients your body needs. In 100 grams, homemade Granola has 386 calories. It is more on the salty side of breakfast as the nuts and oats are not very sweet. This breakfast is suitable for both vegans and vegetarians.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups oats
- 1/2 cup sunflower seeds
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2tbsp sunflower oil
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp almond butter
- 1/2 cup nuts of choice
METHOD:
- Take out a mixing bowl and put in all the ingredients; with a mixer, mix the ingredients for 1 minute (try not to crush the nuts too much). If you wish, you can also put the ingredients into a jar and shake it for around 5 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 300 degrees. If you have mixed all the ingredients with a spatula, lay them onto a baking tray with parchment paper covering the tray. Spread the granola evenly onto the tin and place it into the oven for 30 minutes.
- The granola should be a golden colour and more crumbly than before. Let the homemade granola sit just as it is until it is chilled. Serve with milk/yoghurt of choice and a few raspberries!
